Trinidad & Tobago 1 - 1 Guatemala (Group A)
Guatemala made things very interesting in Group A with a stoppage-time equalizer from Carlos Gallardo on Saturday night in Port-of-Spain.

The looked set to end scoreless until Dwight Yorke entered the match in the 84th minute, making his first appearance since the 2006 World Cup. Within seconds, the former Manchester United striker had an impact. He made the fateful pass that allowed young Keon Daniel to lash a shot into the upper corner, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

But in the 92nd minute, the visitors spoiled the carnival. Gallardo came out of nowhere to snatch a share of the points for the Chapines.

T&T, who beat Cuba on matchday one, now sit in second place behind the USA, whom they face in Chicago on Wednesday. Third-place Guatemala welcome Cuba.

Canada 1 - 2 Honduras (Group B)
Last time out, Honduras saw a lead evaporate in their loss to Mexico. This time, thanks to Ramon Nunez’s second-half brace, the Catrachos turned the tables and got their qualifying bid back on track.

Canada, with its most talented side since the one that qualified for the 1986 World Cup, took the lead in just the 4th minute. FC Dallas defender Adrian Serioux rose up to head home Patrice Bernier’s corner kick, leaving goalkeeper Noal Valladares helpless.

The crowd at Montreal’s Stade Saputo sensed an easy victory for the home side. But Nunez had other ideas. In the 47th minute, he turned David Suazo’s cross in for the equalizer. Nine minutes later, he repeated the action, this time off a pass from Osman Chavez.

Canada is now tied with Jamaica at the bottom of the “Group of Death,” and must travel to Mexico on Wednesday. Honduras, in 2nd place, host Jamaica in San Pedro Sula.

Costa Rica 7 - 0 Suriname (Group C)
The Ticos took firm control of the group with this thrashing of the minnows from Suriname.

Playing in the fearsome Estadio Saprissa in San Jose, Costa Rica were in the driver’s seat from the opening whistle. Froylan Ledesma led the way with a deuce in the first half.

Suriname saw Rinaldo Lupson sent off in first-half stoppage, which removed the already slim chance they had of making a game of it.

In the second half, Alejandro Alpizar, Armando Alonzo, Celso Borges, Alonso Solis, and Brian Ruiz added goals.

Costa Rica now face Haiti, while pointless Suriname now take on El Salvador.

El Salvador 5 - 0 Haiti (Group C)
Twenty-year-old Deportivo Chalatenengo striker Rodolfo Zelaya notched his first three international goals as El Salvador thumped 10-man Haiti in San Salvador.

Zelaya scored the opener in the 7th minute, and six minutes later, Haitian defender Pierre Bruny was shown a red card, nullifying any chance of a comeback.

Zelaya then scored again in the 24th and the 53rd. Cesar Larios added to the total in the 58th minute, and William Torres iced the cake in the 79th.

El Salvador are now on three points, in second place heading into Wednesday’s match with Suriname. Haiti remain on one point.
